I don't think the developers can determine the technical cause for your problem with the very minimalistic information you are providing here.
What could help them is information such as but not limited to;
Have you run and exited Episode 2 first before running NH2?
Are there any other sort of glitches that you can see before the initial crash? (sound ripping, missing textures, ERROR models
I'm trying to translate NH2 subtitles.
I already translated some texts.
How can I apply these translated texts to the game?
Above all, I would need to know how to generate the .dat file (starting from closecaption.txt file).
Sup guys, i'm Trivvy, go by GeneralTrivium on Steam.
I'm really glad you guys are enjoying my play through, I shall be uploading at least 1 part a day due to the amount of processing power and bandwidth it takes to render and upload these.
Basically I have been wanting to make it multilayer to play with a friend on Skype. And I know many of you guys have also wanted to play it multilayer. Since this has not got a server browser or anything, you will have to do connect in console, but here is what you got to do. Also this is not perfect, as the trigger in the map are made for single player etc.
Also, before I start, I have no idea if I'm allowed to post this, but I guess I will find out
1. First, locate to your NH2 folder in Source-mods.
2. open gameinfo.txt
3. change singleplayer_only to multiplayer_only
4. go into the folder 'cfg' then open autoexec.cfg
5. add on a new line: maxplayers 2 (or how many players you want)
When you start your game it will automaticly create a server, and you won't be able to move (stuck on the menu) so do changelevel in console and change it to the first map. Ta-da!
However if you die, it will say, cant save in multiplayer! and you will have to do changelevel again.
If anyone has way's to fix that, please say
My name is Andreas, and I'm from Norway.
I've been a modder since Duke Nukem 3D, where I learned how to make maps, and I've been modding almost every blockbuster game since that. I haven't released anything up until recently, where me and a group of other modders made the largest total conversion for any game, called Nehrim: At Fates Edge, for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. (www.nehrim.de). I'm also a modeler for the Visage mod for Half-Life 2 (www.moddb.com/mods/visage), and I'm very dedicated and hard working. I do have an idea for a game, that I would like to develop on the Unreal Development Kit, and hopefully release over Xbox Live.
My idea is currently in very early stages, and not fleshed out at all yet, so keep that in mind when you read this, as it will be alot better. The idea is a horror game set in an old chinese village. Something bad has happened in this village years ago, and it's become a ghost town (literally). The Chinese are a very superstitious people, and they show respect for their dead, even in the afterlife. The 7th month of each year is focused on showing respect to their dead by giving them sacrifices of food and other items. If anyone is to take from, or disturb this sacrifice before the month is over, they will be targeted by the ghosts. They will be able to see them, and the ghosts will be able to see the person. The ghosts can play tricks on your mind, and make you go insane. This is of course just old superstition, but it makes a very cool founding to base a horror game off of I think.
The player is free to explore this haunted place, enter buildings, go freely and move around as he sees fit. I think I want there to be separate maps for each part of the city, i.e.: farmland on the outskirts, downtown, slum area, residential area etc. These areas will be free to explore as the player sees fit. I don't think I want there to be alot of enemies to endanger the player, but rather scare the player mentally. I must admit I really love the type of horror where you don't place the player in certain danger, but rather play with their fears, like the manequins in NH2. That was superbly done, and a perfect example of the kind of horror I would like this game to be about.
Of course there has to be action, and a compelling story. But sadly, I don't have alot of original ideas for stories, but I do have good ideas on how to scare people. I need to make it clear that I'm not going to be just an "idea guy", or "just a leader" that does nothing but talk. I'm a worker, and a hard worker. My main job in mods is modeling and texturing, but I've also done a lot of level design.
I've already talked to Hen, who really liked my idea, but is unable to join me because he wants to take a break after NH2, which i totally understand. I do however hope that someone else from the NH2 team, or any other individual with a talent and passion for making games would join me in making this game. I'm really enthusiastic about it, and I'm sure it will turn out amazing!
