Is that possible? Because for god sake it shouldn't be.

Yeah...PS3's have an "install other OS" option.

Ubuntu is the most popular, and what's wrong with that?

I think it's inevitable that one day our games consoles will be as versatile as the desktop computers we use.

Whoever said they like Itunes must not be as big of a nerd as I am. Itunes is bloated, and is more than 100 mb when you have to download Quicktime (which also sucks).

If you want a good Ipod music manager, try YamiPod. It's tiny (15 mb) and plays directly from the ipod. No installation required. It's simple, straightforward, and powerful.

Hmm... I personally still like iTunes, and definitely not for the iPod, but hell this thread is not about stuff I like. I'll go edit it in if I remember, after reading the rest of the forum. (Unread posts, don't get freaked :P)

I found another little piece of freeware called "Billy". Billy is beyond tiny (786 KB) It's a very quick, easy mp3 player. When I mean quick, I mean the millisecond you lift your finger off of the mouse when you double-click. Supports queues and playlists. It also has a bunch of quick keys so if you don't want to go in the program or if your playin a game you can just hit the corresponding quick key to pause, mute, next song, whatever.. Anyways, I think it's pretty awesome. Check it out:

The point is that it doesn't waste another GB, leaving them with 99 GB.

Yeah. To tell the truth, I don't use any of the stuff you guys suggest except for stuff I already did but man those things are useful. If I ever need anything, this is the first place I'll look in.

Sorry for forgetting to edit that in, but can you give a more... Official-looking description? :P I'd rather just copy-paste :P

Billy is an audio player that allows you to quickly play an entire directory of MP3 files. It can usually load files 2 to 8 times faster than winamp or media player. Billy plays music albums without any gaps between tracks, so an overlapping applause or beat will continue. The player is 100% controllable by keyboard and its easy finder and special rename functions help you to find and organize your files quickly.

Since this thread is a sticky i'd thought i'd post:

Theirs a music program I know of (its sorta like itunes), and its called emusic. It costs a different amounts you pay per a month, I dont remember how much exactly, but their are different memberships and the more you pay per month the more songs you get to download per month. It has a nice collection of music (mostly indy rock), and It's a really good program, you can find coupons for 35-50 free songs in magazines and other placs like concerts, or in advertisements for the program. This program is a lot better than itunes because it give a whole lot of freedom with your music. You can even share your music with all your friends, Legally!

Check it out some time.

I guess Ill post my two cents:

Gimp

Like photo shop, but free and open source

(Good for making textures)

Audacity

Good for recording and light audio editing

Mediacoder

A universal av converter including a mobile edition for phones ;)

(personally, I like it better than SUPER)

VLC

Open source Media Player that can handle Pretty Much everything

hmm, thats all for now. This is all open-source and 100% legal. Enjoy

Back again.

Oddly enough, there are no modding tools listed so here goes one:

NOT OPEN SOURCE (but still free of charge)

MSI Mod Tool

And an Open Source 3D animation and Modeling Program

Blender and so that you see what is possible with Blender check This out.

And a popular program, bit torrent ;)

I use Deluge

When releasing a Mod or other game-related file I recommend you use Game Updates due to the fact that they have DEDICATED core seeding, meaning once you upload to their seeders, the files will always have seeds.
