Has anyone else been having problems with rendering source recorder demos?

I didn't expect much, but the only problem with rendering is this strange stutter and camera skipping (especially during  cutscenes).

Have any of you guys had this problem? What's the developers' take on this?

Since I can't really use anything else other than the source recorder software to get decent frames, demos are the only solution for me if I want to create videos off of this game.

 

On another note, I seem to be suffering a moderately annoying problem regarding subtitles and the TAB (objective status update) button.

Whenever subtitles are displayed, ambient occlusion (I believe) stops working. Most shadow outlines in corners and around most objects disappear for the duration of a subtitle appearance, while pressing TAB will fix it back for the duration of the objective status update. This annoys me greatly, because Chapter 1 is mostly close quarters with lots of walls and corners.

Hi. Love the game. Spent hours in the house before even hitting first mission. Anywho, found a bug:

 

 

It has happened several times. That window pops up and the game crashes after closing the error window. The amount listed in the parentheses changes. For example, the 2nd time the error occurred it said (25099>24576). Same error. This bug occurred on top of the roof outside the door to exit the rooftop shortly after I had to snipe the baddy out of the helicopter. I had already opened the door but left to go back and search for ammo etc on the roof. It seems to happen if I pop back out of the door a second time after the auto-save. This is the area I'm referring to:

 

 

It happens almost every time if I pop back out of the door, however if I simply continue through the door the game doesn't crash. Hope this helps.

After the fight in the showers with Tyrone, in the house part after that where you hide from the Guilt, after the Guilt runs away going through the following doorway results in a crash. I've tried changing resolutions, turning anti-aliasing off and on, experimenting to see if I let Tyrone win, if I don't take down any cops, or if I take a large amount of them down will change anything, and the result is always the exact same.

I couln't fin a way to save Todd without cheating so I nocliped into the room where the zombies were (sorry Mxthe) and killed them. However, Once Matthew, Carl, Todd, and Eric got to the door which you close and put the axe between, it glitches out. The doors don't close but Matthew leans up against them as if they were. Then Carl ran out the door and died. After a few tries I was able to fix it but it still was iritating. Maybe this happend because I cheated, if it did could somemone tell me how I can save Todd?

I'm incapable of even launching the game, i have source SDK 2007 installed and the game just shows in the task manager as the usual hl2.exe but never appears to launch.

I had hector get stuck in the power room doorway, the one in the normal prison area (The one you start in if you listen to the npc's and don't get into any fights or anything.)

Try verifying your Source SDK Base 2007 cache, and try re-downloading/reinstalling the game.

I having a problem when I launch the game the screen stays white,I can start the game,but the cutscenes stay with the white screen to. When I begin to play the screen stays with a black triangle on the side. When I open the notes just stay white and I can't read. Help me guys!!

Just bumped into a survivor bug now. Spoilers ahead. It's already after the second safe place, the team is gathering all the important stuff to move out and I just fixed a cypher and got into the west wing. I saved one survivor from there, he was in the toilet room of the restaurant. The second survivor was found in the medical bay, in one of the rooms. He has green text, red shirt. The mailman. The problem is though, I bring him through the south core access but he refuses to stay in the safe house. Terry doesn't open the door like usually and the survivor continues to follow me around. Anyway to fix this?

when i open the file with WinRAR the file show me this message "Underhell_Chapter1_1.2.7z: The archive is corrupt"

After the Ace Assembly shootout, after using the elevator to get back to the North Wing labs, you can literally stuck in this elevator. If the doors will close before you go out, you won't be able to open them and there's no triggers on the button panel (Unusable).

Hi,

 

I'm having some trouble with going up the elevators in the residential area. Every time I enter the elevator and it begins going upwards, my game crashes with the common "hl2.exe stopped working etc.". What is causing that and how do I fix it?

 

I use 1.2 (I even tried reinstalling) and I already have verified Source SDK 07.

Fixed it by turning off HDR setting shadow quality to low.

Guilt failed to spawn when its chases you around the second time in the Chapter 1 hub dreamscape.

 

This is what happened: I finished all four side dreams. Guilt spawned, and I hid until the sequence stopped. Then I walked around more and caused Tom to do one of his projected memories. Then Guilt spawned again, I hid, and the sequence didn't stop. I walked around looking for it, but it was nowhere. I had to restart to fix it.

 

Edit: Bryan's side quest fails to start if two survivors are saved at once after saving the first main quest batch.

First post on here and its 1 in the morning so bleh.
Anyway, i managed to kill Ito... no seriously. Right before the cutscene where he monologs to you and what not, if you place a radiocraker in the hallway that he shows up in, the guard that is with him will set it off, killing them both and i think it broke the cutscene (i didnt stick around for long so maybe things would have played out the same anyway.) Not like this is some big game breaking bug but still.
 

Oh and right before the group moves out of the first safe house... i went back to the safe house and tried going through the double doors to the... the area where you gather cypher parts (how am i supposed to remeber wing names at 1 in the morning) and the game would consistantlly crash. I didnt really want to go there or anything but the crashing part sucked.

I tried fixing some "double doors" crashes. I found other double doors which cause crash.

You can skip whole "technical" part of my post, just read the part after "My patch" words.

There is modified dll file (patched by me). With that file I can go to those double doors and nothing bad happens. I'm curious, will my patch work for you or not.

Ok Guys , im here again xD, i just want a little help with the mod..

 

I reinstalled Underhell Chapter 1 all from zero, but when i enter the mod via Steam, it says in my friend's list " In-Mod Source SDK Base 2007".

 

The first time i installed Underhell this never happened. I dunno' whats wrong. A little fix, guys?

 

PD : Reinstalled Source sdk 2007, verified integrity cache, but it wont fix this.

Make sure you haven't activated beta updates for Half-Life 2, its episodes, or the Source SDK tools.  If you are, opt out of them by right-clicking the games on your Steam library and going to properties.  Then go to the "Betas" tab and switch to "NONE - opt out of all beta programs".  Let those games update if they need to, and Underhell's name should start working again.

 

I uninstalled HL2 and Episodes, so i think they're not the problem ; The SDK Tools doesnt have "Betas" tab.. Another suggestion?

1st Dream Sequence in the Prologue.

You can break Guilt's AI.

1) Read 'My Guilt' page

2) Step in the closet but don't close it yet.

3) When Guilt runs in the room close the doors.

4) Guilt will yell but won't leave the room. Once you step outside the closet he'll start running away from you, but won't dissapear.

Don't understand. Are you trying to play the game without Steam? It isn't necessary because Underhell doesn't require Half-Life 2 to be owned and installed. All you need is download Source SDK Base 2007 from Tools in the Steam library and launch it at least once.

I meant my Half Life 2 will not be detected by Steam.

I tried that instead, but Underhell still errors. I don't understand how Underhell is the only mod that fails.

 

Edit, 7/25/14: I fixed it. Turns out I needed to get the Source SDK Base client.dll and server.dll.

 

Now I just need to figure out how to get into the chapters. Everytime I start a chapter or the house, it stops responding.

If you have come from the south wing core acess, and try to go to the east wing door, the game will crash. (Hl2 stopped working).

This bug can easily be fixed if you avoid going to the west wing door and going to the south wing core acess instead.Them, enter by using the east wing core acess.

Another one I found:

 

When I was shooting at zombies, moving backwards, with my flashlight on, during the sewer sequence where Jake splits off from Bryan and Matthew, falling into the hole/slide did not remove the flashlight. Instead, it was permanently turned on with no way to turn it off. I did not see if the actual flashlight pickup would have fixed this.
