You need to have Half Life 2 episode 2 installed and own on a legitimate steam account.
I have the same problem... I have legitimate steam accound..... I have half life 2 (it has both episodes).... and I still crash... please help!

Half-Life 2 does not include Half-Life 2: Episode Two. They are different games.
Protip: Alien meat may have some unspeakable side-effects.

There is no non-Steam version of HL2EP2. If you have a version that's not on Steam then it's fake and it won't work.I have the same problem, and i have half-life 2 episode 2, but it still wont start. Do i need to buy HLE2 from steam? If not, how to add the HLE2 to the steam?
